Chaos In Cabo is part of Kay’s Mayhem in Mexico series. My favorite part of these is the peek into Mexican culture, with Kay’s often-lyrical descriptions of Mexican scenery. The bits of Spanish were also great fun since I am currently studying Spanish on duo-lingo. I also enjoyed meeting a female villain who held my sympathy because her serial killing was of men who were abusers. Not that serial killing is a good thing, but I had to pause and reflect. The male villain also had a complicated history that explained his murders. Again, pause and reflect. The romance seems to me to be as important a part as the two crimes under investigation, and who doesn’t like a good romance? “Thriller” is not a genre I often read, but Kay’s books are a rewarding read.
